It's now official. actor Joe Manganiello has been cast to play the role of "Deathstroke," and Managniello even sent out a tweet to confirm this.

After Ben Afflecks's sharing a footage of the villain "Deathstroke" through Twitter, fans have become even more excited as fantasy casting for the role began online. A majority of the fans have been bringing up one name - Joe Manganiello from the the TV series "True Blood" and of the "Magic Mike" film franchise, was favored by many to play the role of the "Teen Titan" and "Batman" villain, Deathstroke.

In a guest appearance in Collider Heroes, The Wrap's Umberto Gonzales mentioned that Deathstroke will be appearing in the Batman standalone film that will be helmed and acted on by Ben Affleck. Also stating that he is a better fit as a villain to Batman, than being an antagonist for the Justice League. Gonzalez mentions that Manganiello is on his top two choice of playing Slade Wilson, when taking into conderation that Warner Bros. has been making it a habit of casting within their franchise, which includes Magic Mike. Filmmaker Robert Meyer Burnett, in the same episode of Collider Heroes has also mentioned that Manganiello can match Ben Affleck's Batman in terms of physicality.

Now, in an exclusive interview with the Wall Street Journal, DC Entertainment president and chief creative officer Geoff Johns confirmed Joe Manganiello's casting as Deathstroke, as he was discussing his new job of being in-charge of the DC Extended Universe movies. However, there were no other details revealed about it, just the information that the mercenary will appear in the Batman standlone film, but how much will he be in it still remains unknown.

Following the announcement, Manganiello took to twitter, and gave his own confirmation about his casting as Deathstroke.

Deathstroke was created, way back in 1980 by Marv Wolfman and George Perez, and was introduced as an enemy of the "Teen Titans," before he was brought in to become part of the Batman rogues gallery.
