The national public broadcaster of Japan, NHK has started TV broadcasting transmitted through 8K resolution. Fans of the 2016 Rio Olympics felt glad for it was announced that NHK will going to organize events for public viewing on the happenings from the world's most awaited prestige sports competition where the famous Japanese conductor Seiji Ozawa will perform a Beethoven piece, highlights from the 2012 London Olympic Games and J-pop Kyary Pamyu Pamyu concert.

For the meantime, there are no devices that can cater the live streaming of the pixel-rich media from home and that's the reason why NHK planned to deploy a public viewing. For technical information, 4k and 8k are standard resolutions that indicate as to how many pixels a screen has. 8K's output is 7,680 x 4,320 pixels and that's four times as clear and sharp as 4K (Ultra High Definition) and 16 times clearer and sharper than 1080p (High Definition). 8K broadcast also comes with 22.2-channel audio, as reported by Tech Times.

NHK is known for delivering cutting-edge technologies when it comes to broadcasting since 1989. Thus, the early channel will serve as a testbed for broadcasting the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in the highest quality possible, according to Inverse. It is said that the broadcasting company has already been preparing for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, tested the same technology last 2002.

Japan has become the first country who launched the 8K satellite broadcasting. Unverified information from January of this year said that Guardians of the Galaxy will be the first movie shot using 8K Weapon of RED. That means the movie will be able to maintain its high quality even if streaming at 4k resolution.

Since 8K is not yet available in the market anywhere in the world, consumers are advised to check Sony's latest 4K Ultra HD TV with HDR and support for Android TV that costs around $999.99.
