"Assassin's Creed" trailer just dropped on "Jimmy Kimmel Live." Based on Ubisoft's trademark videogame franchise, the film adaptation headline's Michael Fassbender as an ex-death row inmate forced to take over the past memory of his ancestor who lived through the Spanish Inquisition.
The trailer also focused on a good primer on how Assasin's Creed has been set concurrently both in the past and the present. It introduced the "Animus" which allows descendants to live through the memoirs of their ancestors in real time, Screen Rant said in a report.
According to Screen Rant report, the motion picture is not a straight version of any game from the Assasin's Creed collection series. Instead, it is an original story starring Michael Fassbender playing two different roles, namely, Callum Lynch, a death row inmate living in the present, and a relative from his 15th century ancestry, a Spanish assassin, Aguilar.
During the set of Assassin's Creed last year, Screen Rant had the chance to interview Fassbender regarding his dual characters. Basically, the protagonist Callum Lynch does not have a lineage that he feels a belonging to. He also does not realize he is an assassin, sort of lost soul. He has been admitted in and out of correctional facilities, Fassbender told Screen Rant.
On the other hand, Aguilar is a significant figure who belongs to the creed or probably the Knight's Templar living with a cause. He has been following that cause where he probably belongs. These two are diverse standpoints to the character he plays. Hopefully Aguilar will train his present character from the regressions that he belongs to. That is basically the major difference between the two characters, he added to the interview.
Assassin's Creed hits the theaters on December 21. Joining Fassbender in the movie are Marion Cotillard, Michael K. Williams, Jeremy Irons and others.
