You may think that an actress like Eva Longoria, who is known for her role in "Desperate Housewives," made it big with a degree in the arts.

It is the reverse in fact. Longoria, who was born in Corpus Christi, Texas was a hard worker at a young age. She worked at a Wendy's restaurant for three years as a part timer. This was her high school gig.

After high school, she enrolled in Texas A&M University - Kingsville. She took a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. Kinesiology is a scientific study of human or non-human body movement. The study addresses the physiological, bio-mechanical, and psychological mechanisms of movement.

What made her shift to entertainment? After college, she entered a talent contest and was signed on by an agent. While she auditioned for roles, she also worked as a head hunter.

Later on, she became a successful actress but did not stop learning. According to Sioux City Journal, she took a master's degree in Chicano Studies from California State University, Northridge back in 2013. She also made a thesis titled "Success STEMS from Diversity: The Value of Latinas in STEM Careers."

When you see her on the red carpet, you can still wonder about what designer made her gown or the shoes she is wearing. In addition, you can also wonder about what else she knows about the mechanisms of movement.

Although she is known for her acting, and (now that you know that) she has a bachelor's and masters degree, she also has her own business ventures. She is her own successful entrepreneur. She opened a restaurant named "Beso" which means kiss in Spanish. However, it went bankrupt years later. She then made her own cookbook and teamed up with sportsware brands like Sunrise Brands.
