‘Horizon: Zero Dawn’ Update 1.12 Recently Released; Game Story Rewritten For Hundreds Of Hours [VIDEO]

By

Update 1.12 for "Horizon: Zero Dawn" was released recently by Guerilla Games on the PlayStation 4. This update was released due to new features and to fix some bugs in the game.

3D audio support

One of the notable additions to "Horizon: Zero Dawn"  is the support for 3D audio for 3D headsets. This means consumers who have those gadgets can now fully take advantage of its features compared to the one before the update, revealed the game company on the official website of Reddit.

Adjustments

The update made some adjustments as well like the improved Pathfinding to Quest markers and custom waypoints when players are on a mount. It also improved the performance in several areas in the game, and its lightmap.

Fixes

Several fixes were implemented with the latest update for "Horizon: Zero Dawn." For the progressions fixes, one issue fixed was that some players might encounter in The Point of the Spear where players would be given an extra Carja Bow and Spear if Aloy died before talking to Rost.

The update fixed an issue where Patch 1.10 did not offer a solution for any players who encountered a problem with a Tallneck's datapoint. It did not unlock anything when they had fas-traveled away while on top of the machine instead of rappelling down. Those who had this problem had to revisit the machine again and leave the area to unlock it.

The update fixed a crash issue in The City of the Sun where on some occasions "Horizon: Zero Dawn" would crash when Aloy and Erend investigate Olin's house. Another issue fixed was the one when some players fast-travelled during one of Aloy's animations in the bunker she fell into when she was a child.

Rewriting the story for hundreds of hours

Narrative director John Gonzalez revealed that helping create the story for "Horizon: Zero Dawn" was the biggest challenge of his career. He said that they needed hundreds of hours just to rewrite the story to make it the best one that many could relate to. Guerilla Games imagined and re-imagined every detail before even one word of the dialogue was written, said Gonzalez in an exclusive interview with Kotaku
