‘Horizon: Zero Dawn’ Gets More Than 2.6 Million Units Sold In First Two Weeks [VIDEO]

Game publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment and game developer Guerilla Games revealed that "Horizon: Zero Dawn" has exceeded 2.6 million units being sold in its first two weeks after launching. They also confirmed that there is an upcoming story expansion in the works.

Sony Interactive Entertainment revealed on the official blog of Guerilla Games that "Horizon: Zero Dawn" surpassed its sales during its two weeks of launch one. The video game was released globally on Feb. 28 and since then garnered a lot of praise from many fans and casual gamers. The publisher revealed that its impressive launch makes it the best-selling new first party IP launch on the PlayStation 4 system to date, and it also makes the developer's biggest debut.

SIE Worldwide Studios chairman Shaw Layden said in a statement that the company knew "Horizon: Zero Dawn" was going to be something special. They are proud to see that the video game gained a lot of praise from everyone and its high level of sales. He also said that Guerilla Games has created a game that is nothing short of exceptional, and the fans' reaction shows just how it has become a big impact.

Guerilla Games managing Director Hermen Hulst revealed in a statement that "Horizon: Zero Dawn" will have story expansion in the future and their team is already hard at work. They were thrilled that the game has been embraced by critics and players alike when it was released.

Several fans of the video game are glad that there is a plan for a story expansion for it. One fan revealed on the official website of Reddit that he would like to see an arena-mode downloadable content, which will allow them to fight waves of machines. Another fan predicted that the other fans will be speculating on when the DLC takes place in the video game.
