New Sony Xperia to Ship with 4K Display, 4 GB RAM and More; Launch at CES 2017 [RUMOR]

By

It would be an unusual move for Sony Mobile to launch Xperia smartphone at CES but a recent leak suggests that it will.

4K Sony Xperia to rock 4K display and 4 GB RAM

If rumors are to be believed, the upcoming Sony Xperia will sport 4K display. According to a Weibo user, there will be a larger device sporting 5.5-inch screen and smaller one with 5.2-inch screen.

Under the hood, the 4K Sony Xperia will get 4GB RAM on board. A 4K display allows a device to be VR-compatible, Softpedia reported. Sony is expected to equip the device with a whopping battery capacity as such display feature will require a huge energy.

However, this probably won't be an issue for Sony. The Xperia XZ already rocks 'smart battery' feature that enables the phone to prevent excess charging. Find out the review here.

There is no word about which series the two devices will belong to. This is not the first 4K phones that Sony has launched. Xperia Z5 Premium is an impressive device with breathtakingly sharp 4K display.

The upcoming premium handset will add more options for the tech crowds who want to view 4K content on smartphones.

4K Sony Xperia to be launched at CES 2017?

The biggest consumer electronics show will be held in January in Las Vegas. Sony is rumored to unveil the 4K handsets at the CES 2017. This does not corroborate with the previous rumor that suggested the release during MWC 2017, Android Headlines has learned.

However, regardless when Sony will reveal its 4K handsets, both phones already get green light from European Economics Commission. This should indicate that the launch date is imminent.
