"GTA 5" fans, rejoice! A jaw-dropping update to the hit action-adventure video game is slated to overhaul the "Grand Theft Auto" universe from top to bottom. A slew of new screenshots for GTA 5's imminent graphical overhaul dubbed, GTA5Redux have surfaced and its nothing short of astonishing.

Video games realm is no stranger to graphic upgrade mods - "Star Wars Battlefront" saw an impressive one in 2015 - and now "GTA 5" has one of its one and it looks simply incredible.

Modder Josh Romito's GTA5 Redux, a looming mod for "GTA 5" on PC is expected to take the already impressive looking title to the next level.

Romito says that this update is slated to bring a radical, "top to bottom overhaul" of the entire "Grand Theft Auto" universe, and if reports from several online tech publications are anything to go by, he is not at all trying to make it look superficially attractive.

Back in 2014, when Rockstar introduced "Grand Theft Auto V" to next-generation consoles as well as PCs, it wasn't quite an easy port. A great deal of the game's graphics had been revamped for it to take leverage of the brand-new hardware, including additions such as HD real-time reflections, entirely new fauna and added foliage, TechTimes reported.

While other publishers seem to be satisfied rolling out an updated port of a previous game, Rockstar has clearly taken things to the next level with GTA5 Redux. Josh Romito is quite a popular name in video game graphics modding arena and is famed for coming up with some of the best quality graphical overhaul.

The acclaimed mods creator recently released a video that give fans a sneak peek at how flawless everything looks - vehicles sport a realistic reflective sheen, clothes actually become wet in the rain, and pedestrians seem shocked for real when players sow chaos on the streets, VG 24/7 reported.

Although the "Grand Theft Auto 5" Redux mod doesn't have an official release date attached to it yet, but a quick look at the official website assures the mod will be making an appearance pretty soon. Digging further into the gameplay video, the creator hints the release date will be unveiled as soon as his YouTube channel reaches 5,000 subscribers.

If that claim proved to be true, fans are not too far from an official release date announcement as Romito's YouTube channel has already crossed the 5,000 subscribers' benchmark (6,704 current subscribers when last checked).
