Ray Kurzweil, Google's Director of Engineering, is known for his accurate predictions about the future. Recently, he made another prediction saying that humans will be powered by machines by 2045.

During the SXSW conference, Kurzweil predicted that singularity will happen and that humans should not fear it.

Singularity is what scientists refer to as the time when machines, especially artificial intelligence, will have reached a human-level kind of intelligence.

With that level of intelligence, Kurzweil said that this singularity is not what most people think about as the end of the human race. Instead, this singularity will make humans more intelligent and superior than they are today. That's because, at that time, nanobots will be injected into human brains and arteries which are connected to cloud. He also added that it is, in fact, happening now and very fast.

In an interview during the conference, Kurzweil said that he is looking forward to that age of singularity because it will be a way for humans to improve - as artificial intelligence improve so will human intelligence. He added that by 2030, these machines will be connected to the neocortex of the human brain.

His idea of nanobots connected to the neocortex and into the cloud is not unique. In fact, it is similar to Elon Musk's vision of the neural lace networks where humans will interact with machines using only their thoughts.

Kurzweil said that the world becoming a cybernetic society is not a far-fetched idea. He cited examples that people with neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson's already have computers in their brains today. This is just the beginning and since technology, by nature, strives to develop and grow, humans being powered by machine will eventually happen.

With this human-machine synthesis, humans will be able to expand their minds and the artistic qualities they value.
