Fans and gamers of "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" has a big surprise coming. Treyarch announced a "new feature" to "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" as well as hints that there will be a redesign of the game in 2017.

This is good news for fans of the shooter, though not as recent, it is still popular than "Infinite Warfare." It is typical for "Call of Duty" games not to have post-launch content other than what is announced. However, Treyarch has other plans it seems for "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" that had its planned content completely delivered in September/October this year, VG24/7 reported.

However, it may not be the end of the line for "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" just yet. Treyarch's Jason Blundell and Dan Bunting in a Facebook live stream announced that "Black Ops 3" would be having updates scheduled for 2017.

Though they did not specify which gamers would expect from the planned updates for "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3," hints were dropped that more zombies might be in the offing. Bunting, on the other hand, says he can't state anything in particular, however, he adds that they will continue to amp the game as long as people keep playing.

Accordingly, both Blundell and Bunting are anticipating a year of redesigns for "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3." Aside from more zombies, Blundell hinted at another additional element that will come to the game called "Newton's Cookbook," according to Mobile & Apps. Sadly, he cannot tell more about this upcoming feature for now aside from it being incorporated in the game's Zombie Mode.

As for other new content, the duo did not indicate if it would involve new maps or new game modes. Neither was it said if there would be improvements or new features to be introduced in the coming update. They are quite coy from the live stream regarding the update to "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" but it would indicate that new maps and modes might be in the order of the day. We shall all see what they come up with next year to find out.
