CyanogenMod expand their list of eligible devices for CyanogenMod 14.1, a custom-ROM based on Android 7.1 Nougat mobile OS. Check out CM 14.1 Nightly Build enhanced features and the newly added devices here!

Devices Eligible for CyanogenMod 14.1

When CyanogenMod 14.1 nightly builds (Android 7.1 Nougat-based) was released back in November, the company has expanded their list of eligible devices for the update. According to Indian Express, these devices include Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, OnePlus 3, Xiaomi Mi Max, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, Galaxy S3 Verizon and Galaxy S3 i9300 model.

On the other hand, the devices that are included for the first phase of the update include OnePlus 3, Samsung Galaxy S5, LG G4, LG G3, Moto G (2013 to 2015 models, Xiaomi Mi3/Mi4, Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P. The custom ROM can be downloaded automatically to these devices from the CyanogenMod website.

What to Expect from CyanogenMod 14.1?

CyanogenMod appears to be very much alike with stock Android and as expected, CM 14.1 resembles with Android 7.1 Nougat in so many ways, according to Android Authority. However, there are some additional features and options that CyanogenMod 14.1 offers aside from what's inside the latest Nougat update.

Normally, what you find in stock Android are the following: quick app switching, split screen mode, quick Reply and bundled notifications, DPI scaling for resized on-screen content and refreshed look on Settings menu. In CyanogenMod 14.1, aside from the Trebuchet Launcher, the custom ROM also offers an adaptive screen mode called Live Display in which the screen changes its color and temperature depending on the time of the day and weather condition.

Furthermore, CyanogenMod 14.1 also offers expanded desktop where the navigation and status bar are automatically hidden for better screen immersion experience. Lastly, the custom ROM also offers notifications for battery and LED controls, performance profiles for power-saving that automatically optimized, pre-set audio settings called AudioFX, button shortcuts, layouts and power-off menu subject for customization, system profiles and refreshed settings for privacy.
