To raise awareness for various campaigns, oftentimes, programs take their causes to the streets. This would often include rallies, parades and even concerts or such events. But it is not always that the general public gets to see celebrities taking their time out of their busy schedule to actually sleep on the streets.

"James Bond" actor Colin Salmon, "X Factor Matt Cardie," radio DJ Sara Cox and even celebrity chef Marcus Wareing slept on the streets of London. Their efforts are going to support youth homelessness through their chosen charity, Centrepoint, cites Bury Times. Centrepoint was founded in 1969 and the Duke of Cambridge became its patron in 2005. In addition to the mentioned four celebrities, "Made in Chelsea" Ashley James, Lisa Maxwell, Lee Ryan, Lady Kitty Spencer, Sadie Frost and DJ Brandon Block werre all dozing in sleeping bags.

The fund raising campaign is called "Sleep Out," and it hosts famous celebrities to camp out for one night beside a thousand other members of the campaign and its community.

This sleep over is not just a simple camp night out. The event which was held at Greenwich Peninsula also includes entertainment and performances, and even a bed time story Christopher Biggins.

What these celebrities and charity members are going through is only a small percentage of what the homeless youth go through every year. On record, according to the publication, there are over 9,000 homeless youths on the streets between the ages of 16 and 25. Centrepoint supports these individuals every year.

The "Sleep Out" in London aims to provide the homeless youth in the United Kingdom with access to a warm bed, health support and access to education that includes training and future employment.

The charity hopes to remove these young people from the streets and make them part of society by engaging them through necessary resources and education.
