Jason Statham will stage-up a fight with a giant prehistoric shark in his next movie titled "Meg," which involves an atrocious sea creature as a nemesis to the actor's character Jonas Taylor. Taylor is an expert sea diver of the US Navy, and is made to face the attack of gigantic 70-foot shark to their international undersea observation vessel called the Megalodon.

"Meg" is obviously a shortened term of the vessel's name where Taylor is part of. The giant shark in the movie is considered to be extinct and is the largest predators in world history; however, it still surprisingly exists in the ocean. Taylor is tasked to save the whole crew and the ocean.

According to Den of Geek, the first few photos that were taken from the film's production showed Statham as a sea captain donning a turtleneck, beside him is singer/actress Li Bingbing who plays the character of the daughter of the lead oceanographer of the program.

The movie is a film adaptation of the 1997 novel "Meg: A Novel of Deep Terror" by Steve Alten. The movie is the first part from a series of novels involving Statham's character. The movie brought its set from California to China, and this could be another possible movie franchise for the actor after doing big franchise hits, such as "The Transporter," "The Fast and Furious" series and "The Expendables."

There are no details yet about how Statham will take on the shark, but considering his past movies, this film is surely action-packed. According to Men's Fitness, less than a month before "Meg's" premiere, which will be held on March 2, 2018, "Pacific Rim 2" will also be released on cinemas on Feb. 23, 2018. Since this is the case, it seems that John Boyega has to free the Mariana Trench from its giant monsters first, before Statham will fight over with his giant shark. Or else, he might be also fighting with those gigantic creatures more than any other.
