Why does Lily Collins name sound familiar? Is it because she is the daughter of the famous singer Phil Collins? Or maybe you have seen her famous fantasy movie 'The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones'? If you went to University of Southern California, she is actually an alumnus!

Born in England but moved to the United States when she was young, she already had acting in her blood. She began acting when she was two years old. She starred in BBC's 'Growing Pains.' She took her primary education at Harvard-Westlake School.

Lily Collins then attended the University of Southern California and majored in Broadcast Journalism, according to Seventeen. In the same year, she became Glamour's International Model of the Year. As an active youth participant, she covered the 2008 US Presidential Election as Nickelodeon's host for 'Kids Pick the President.' Putting her broadcasting and journalism skills to use, she also won a Young Hollywood Award for Newest Red Carpet Correspondent in 2008. Putting her voice to use, she campaigns against bullying. She is an outspoken anti-bullying advocate and is even the Celebrity Ambassador to Bystander Revolution.

She was not keen to talk about her dad, Phil Collins, because she wanted to put her own name up. At one point, her father sat her down and prepared her for the glaring celebrity spotlight that is ahead of her.

Lily Collins is also known as Maxim magazine's Hottest Daughters of Rock Stars in 2009 But many know her as Clary Fray in the fantasy movie 'The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones'. City of Bones is a movie adaptation from the novels written by Cassandra Clare.
