Never too old, never too late; this is what is written on Mary Ann Norbom's mortarboard as she proudly finished her bachelor's degree at the Penn State University on Saturday, August 13.

Norbom is a known long-time celebrity journalist who covered the life of Dolly Parton from country music to mainstream pop.

She was given an opportunity to appear on TV to share her expertise on celebrities in the 1990's in the show entitled "The Hard Copy". She later worked and joined the launch of United States' very own OK! Magazine.

In 1967, Norbom enrolled and took up a bachelor's degree in political science which she failed to complete. In 1969 she got married and moved on to start a family in Philadelphia where she got her first job compiling listings for a TV Guide.

She then got hired as a reporter at Star Magazine where she got the opportunity to follow the life of Parton. She was even sent for an interview with the singer as well as her family in Tennessee.

She also worked as a segment producer on "Entertainment Tonight" for the stories featuring the lives of the actor Robert Mitchum and Mickey Mantle, a baseball legend.

In the midst of all the fame, success and fast paced life, Norbom never forgot her unfinished business of taking her bachelor's degree, The Penn State News reported.

In 2010 her husband died that made her decide to move to Santa Barbara, California where she worked for RadarOnline.com , a newly launched celebrity news website.

It was then that she found an opportunity to complete the unfinished business. She browsed the Penn Website and decided to complete her course online.

Through the World Campus, Norbom re-enrolled at the Penn Stated and began completing all her units while working for a local newspaper.

Finally, after almost five long decades of waiting, Norbom graduated and made it fulfill her unfinished business and proudly say that "never too old, never too late", The Fish Bowl NY reported.
