Technology enthusiasts and car lovers alike embraced the idea of self-driving cars. This is because the idea of having driverless cars is exciting. However, there are both pros and cons to self-driving cars that can both be good, risky or dangerous - depending on how you want to look at it.

Self-Driving Cars Pros and Benefits

If self-driving cars will be the transportation of the future, there will be few to nearly no vehicular accidents in the streets. Self-driving cars house complex technology powered by computers that can calculate speed, location, traffic and much more, Life Hack reported.

Additionally, self-driving cars are fully automated. This means that any kind of parking will be a breeze. Due to its sensors, self-driving cars can also be controlled via a smartphone and have them do all kinds of things remotely, Yale Climate Connections shared. Possibilities of things going awry or potential accidents will slowly be eliminated as self-driving cars become smarter.

Self-Driving Cars Cons and Drawbacks

Anything and everything has a disadvantage and this does not exclude self-driving cars. While self-driving cars make life more efficient for its users, people who make a living out of driving people to their destination lose their jobs, Visual Capitalist noted. Furthermore, since self-driving cars are run by computers, there are concerns of software being reliable enough and privacy being protected enough.

Additionally, if self-driving cars get into and accident with another driverless car, who will take responsibility for the damages? It's a little too hard to tell in the future but it is not known if driverless cars come cheap if it becomes a regular mode of transportation.
