While many people nowadays do not realize the significance of libraries, they must know that it is more than just a place for books and internet access, and a place for nerds. In fact, college students today have more reasons to visit modern libraries, and one good reason is - free stuff.

Many public libraries in the US right now offer a lot of perks that students will surely enjoy, and the only thing they need is their library card, and an online library account with their email, username and password which is linked to their library card.

Here are some of the amazing things that students can actually enjoy for free with their library cards.

Free movies and TV shows

According to Study International, there is no better place for people to get to enjoy a massive collection of DVDs for TV shows and movies for free, than in the library. Now students won't have to pay for Netflix monthly subscription.

This is one of the best perks that students can actually get from libraries, and according to LA Weekly, all they got to do is to download the app which is called OverDrive, then they must login with the use of their library card. After which, they will be able to listen to practically every audiobook on earth, and of course, it can be downloaded for free on their mobile phones.

There are libraries that give access to their members to Lynda.com which is an online learning platform where users can watch a wide range of video tutorials. Students can learn various topics from these tutorials which can definitely help them in school.

Borrowing textbooks from the library are sure ways for college students to save money because they won't have to buy these books themselves. Some of them even finish an entire semester without buying books.
