Dell XPS 15 (2017) is a MacBook Pro Killer; Laptop Could Feature a Touch Bar, High-Performing Specs

Dell has meant to produce the XPS 15 2015 version to take on MacBook Pro but they failed. However, this year's version is likely to go on a head-to-head battle with the latest MacBook Pro because of its powerful specs and MacBook Pro-like features.

What Makes Dell XPS 15 (2017) a MacBook Pro Killer?

First and foremost, Dell XPS 15 (2017) is quite heavy at 4.5 pounds but the portability level is apparent, thus, weight is not an issue at all. It features a glass-covered trackpad that will eventually make the external mouse useless.

The laptop body is built with an aluminum chassis and carbon-fibre that surrounds the keyboard. It also features various ports such as USB 3.0, USB-C (with Thunderbolt), HDMI 2 port and charging port. Dell also added the rare SD card reader on XPS 15 (2017), Huffington Post reported.

Dell XPS 15 (2017) has two screen variants - 1080p and 4K display. The consumer must willing to spend extra hundred dollars on top of its price to be able to experience the 4K resolution though a Sharp IGZO screen that displays brilliant and accurate colors.

The laptop's battery is a shocker as well. Dell XPS 15 (2017) is powered by a 97WHr battery which lasted for six hours in a single charge at a maximum usage such as videos played back to back at 80 percent screen brightness.

When it comes to performance, Dell XPS 15 (2017) has the potential to outscore MacBook Pro. According to PC Advisor, the laptop is powered by the seventh-generation Intel processor, Kaby Lake coupled with 4GB NVIDIA's new 10-series cards, GeForce GTX 1050 graphics chips, 16GB of RAM and 512 SSD.

On the other hand, one advantage that Dell XPS 15 (2017) has over MacBook Pro is the Infinity Edge screen which makes the laptop more portable than the 15-inch competitors. The laptop costs around $2000 but in some other locations it costs $1800.
