‘Killing Floor 2’ Latest Update Brings New Tropical Map, Brutal Gorefast ZED Version & More!

By

Tripwire Interactive rolled out a new update called the Tropical Bash Content Pack for "Killing Floor 2." The first-person shooter video game now offers a new map and weapon, among others.

According to blog post from PlayStation, "Killing Floor 2" players will now have access to a brand-new tropical map ZED Landing. There is a new brutal weapon, too -- the Bone Crusher, a melee weapon, along with the Gorefiend, a vicious dual-bladed version of the Gorefast ZED for fighting.

The pretty ZED Landing map contains an interactive volcano that erupts during battles and emits a lava flow. That lava flow passes through the play space and can interrupt players' fights. When the volcano erupts, the ZED Landing map's scenery changes from a beautiful and vibrant sunny day to foggy and dark surroundings that impairs visuals.

The Bone Crusher weapon in "Killing Floor 2" is "extremely versatile," Tripwire said in the blog post. This weapon, which is a mix between a mace and a shield, allows Berserkers to carry out fast and light attacks. The Bone Crusher can also throw ZEDs to great distances with a powerful shield bash, and block and parry ZED attacks.

The Gorefiend comes with two arms, two blades, new attacks and a chilling mutated tongue - as if the Gorefast that it was based on isn't scary enough already. The Gorefiend is more likely to spawn "on higher difficulties and definitely shakes things up with his powerful and devastating spin attacks," the developer's blog post added.

Aside from these, the "Killing Floor 2" update introduced a new system called Dual Perk that allows players' weapons to be included in more than one Perk class. Players can also activate funny new Emote animations in the game.

One Emote is free and the rest can be acquired through an Emote crate that drops for players during the game. However, players can also choose to not open the crates and instead recycle them as a cosmetic or weapon skin material for new items.

The Tropical Bash Content Pack of "Killing Floor 2" is available for free on PSN. The game's PC version update came with new emotes and achievements, balance tweaks to weapons, a faster way to reach level 10 and map changes, among others.

Those who don't have a copy of "Killing Floor 2" yet can buy them with a 33 percent discount on the North American PlayStation Store from Jan. 19 to 23. What do you think of the latest "Killing Floor 2" update? Share your thoughts below!
