Meizu M5S has gained the attention of smartphone enthusiast for what it could it offer. The entry of Meizu in the competitive mobile market is touted as the threat to other Chinese phone makers like Xiaomi, HTC et al.

Meizu M5S Release Date

Rising Chinese smartphone maker Meizu is set to release its mid-ranger phone this month. The company specifically eyes the Jan. 27 date for a grand launching according to a post on Chinese microblogging site, Weibo. Meaning the MS5 is likely to launch right after the Chinese New Year celebration. According to VR Zone, reports from the mainland said that this unit has already passed the certification from China's TENAA and 3C agencies last December.

Moreover, rumored MS5 model images have surfaced around the net last month. There was no confirmation from Meizu but the specifications and features stand the same with the company flagship as seen in the TENAA listing. These make reports assume that it is the upcoming MS5. According to Android Headline, two variants will be available for Meizu's MS5 - M612Q and M612M. Both of them are expected to be released as midrange phones but one of them is likely to have an international launching.

The upcoming model will sport a 5.2-inch display panel with a resolution of 1920 X 1080pi and will be run by the MediaTek MT6753 chipset, GSM Arena added. The SoC is partnered with a 64-bit octa-core CPU and the ARM Mali-T720 GPU, along with MediaTek's trademark WorldMode 4G LTE modem. The MS5 has said to parade 3 different RAM configurations starting from the 2GB of RAM coupled with 16GB of internal storage and a 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage plus the top tier that goes up to 4GB of RAM with 64GB of internal storage.
