Xiaomi just launched Redmi 4 in China and the budget-phone's specifications are apparently not as rumored. Here are the technical specs of the device. 

Xiaomi Redmi 4 technical specifications

Xiaomi just introduced two variants of 5-inch Redmi 4. The higher-end device sports metal body, octa-core Snapdragon 625 and pairs 32GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128 GB) backed by 3GB of RAM. 

Surprisingly, Xiaomi released another variant of Redmi 4, wherein the low-tier Redmi 4 rocks Snapdragon 430 with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, BGR reported. The Marshmallow devices pair 13MP rear camera and 5MP front-facing camera. Both phones pack 4,100mAh battery.

Xiaomi also launched Redmi 4a, a 5-inch device with Snapdragon 425 under its hood. The chipset is coupled with 32GB of internal storage and 2GB of RAM. Redmi 4a gets 3,120 mAh battery capacity.

As a budget smartphone, Redmi 4 will be this week's highlight in the industry as it is the newest series expected to bring upgrades from Redmi 3 family. The Redmi 4 may be an upgrade from Redmi 3s but it is not a huge leap like the one in Mi Mix.

Redmi 4 is priced at RMB 699 ($103), while the higher end Redmi 4 costs RMB 899 ($133)

Xiaomi Redmi 4: When will it be available in India?

Xiaomi budget phones strive in India's market and is expected to release Redmi 4 in the country. However, there is still no word on its release date in India. Judging from the previous pattern, Mi 5 and Redmi 3 were not launched in the country, but Redmi 3S Prime made it to India in August.

It is safe to assume that the lower-end variant of Redmi 4 might be launched in India with an imminent release date.
