Shareef O'Neal, the son of Hall of Fame center Shaquille O'Neal, has finally made a decision on Wednesday as he announced that he is committed to play for the University of Arizona in 2018. The announcement was also made verbally by O'Neal's AAU team, California Supreme, on Twitter.

Shaquille's 17-year old son, Shareef, is a five-star recruit from Crossroads School in Santa Monica California, Daily Mail reported. He is ranked the 36th prospect in Scout.com's 2018 class, and No. 19 in ESPN rankings of the top 60 high school players in the country.

The 6-foot-8 power forward has averaged 14.1 points and 7.3 rebounds a game last season for his high school.

Shaquille shared that he had the same experience when he was also at the part when he had to choose a college. He said that his decision-making was somewhat similar to what his son did. He did not intervene in his son's decision and allowed him to make his own choice because it was what his father did too.

He also shared how it was a great feeling to see how his Shareef was getting a lot of acceptance letters from many different schools. Shareef had his own book of letters, and Shaquille has gotten his own too.

According to Arizona Sports, Shareef had plenty of offers coming various colleges including Baylor, California, Georgetown, UCLA, USC and LSU, his father's alma mater. Shaquille was in fact surprised as he was also expressing his desire for his son to play for Louisiana State University, his alma matter.

Nonetheless, he congratulated Shareef on one of his Instagram posts and said how proud he is as a father.

Shareef is the second five-star recruit of Arizona and will soon be joining Canadian small forward Emmanuel Akot.
