Dutch sports car marque Spyker is making a strong comeback at the Geneva Motor Show, but this time with the vengeance. The Dutch company has just revealed to the world its newest entry, the new Spyker C8 Preliator Spyker. The company made the big revelation this week.

According to Autoblog, the Dutch automaker has just revealed the C8 Preliator Spyker, a convertible version of the sports car that debuted at last year's Geneva Motor Show. But the real highlights of the story isn't the car itself, but what will be powering it- the monstrous Koenigsegg-built V8 engine.

The Preliator Spyker's naturally-aspirated 5.0-litre, 592bhp Koenigsegg-built V8 engine will replace the supercharged 4.2-litre Audi V8 engine originally used in the previous version of a C8 sports car. The Koenigsegg-built engine, which will be paired with a six-speed manual gearbox, is said to produce a monstrous 600 horsepower and 443 ft of torque. The Swedish-based Koenigsegg has developed the V8 engine specifically to meet the C8 Preliator Spyker's needs, according to the Swedish company.

The previous 2016 C8 Preliator coupé weighed around 1305kg and could accelerate from 0-62mph in just 3.7sec, and has a top speed of 201mph. Spyker's latest model will bring more power and weight, a newly added potency is expected to improve performance, although this is yet to be confirmed by the company.
The new C8 Preliator will get brushed aluminum surrounds, switches and trim in its cabin, and with hand-stitched leather. Additionally, it also gets an electronic folding soft top.

As with the connectivity and digital tech, the C8 Preliator will also feature an infotainment display with connectivity for Spotify and Apple Music, which said to be operated with simple hand gestures.
In addition to the powerful Koenigsegg engine, the C8 Preliator Spyker will also feature a Lotus suspension along with carbon-fiber bodywork, prominent aerodynamic treatments, aluminum hood and deck lid.

Unfortunately, Spyker will build only 100 units of the C8 Preliator Spyker annually at the company's facility in Coventry, England. As mentioned earlier by CarBuzz, production will start by next year and prices are expected to start at around $429,000, almost the same as a small house

The two companies are well-known in the industry for producing great cars, and today they're teaming up for one in Geneva Motor Show. The goal is to produce a good-looking and more powerful sports cars that are capable of going head-to-head with other major brands, which include Ferrari, Lamborghini, Jaguar, and the UK-based Aston Martin.
