Spoilers and details about "Wonder Woman" keep popping up online as the superhero movie nears its June 2, 2017 release date. A new promotional poster for the film has been unveiled, showcasing Gal Gadot as the fierce Amazonian princess.

The poster was released as a part of the movie's tie-in novel titled "Wonder Woman: The Deluxe Junior Novel," which hits bookshelves on May 30. The book can be pre-ordered on Amazon. Check out the image below.

David Thewlis will portray the movie's main villain -- Ares, the Greek god of war, Batman News reported. In DC comics, Ares possesses multiple powers such as invulnerability, super strength, combat skills and strategy and expertise at weaponry. He also lives up to his title by causing mayhem and clashes wherever he goes.

Thewlis has been photographed in the set of "Wonder Woman" but was donning period costume, suggesting that he'll portray Ares but in disguise. Batman News, however, also claimed that Ares will be depicted as a combination of CG and practical effects.

Mattel may have accidentally revealed Ares' appearance in the movie during this month's New York Toy Fair. The villain's action figure was unveiled as a bonus figure when you buy other "Wonder Woman" toys. Check out Ares' toy figure on Twitter.

Early fan screenings for the movie garnered positive reactions. One fan thinks that "Wonder Woman" is "the best movie of the DCEU." Another viewer was blown away by the film. Others, however, think that the superhero flick is just like DCEU's other disappointing projects and that Chris Pine, Diana Prince's leading man, shines in the movie instead of the actress.

An attendee of the screening did a Q&A on Reddit and likened the film to Marvel's "Captain America: The First Avenger," though DC's movie is "more than just stopping the bad guy" and it "wasn't rushed" like "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice," "Man of Steel" and "Suicide Squad." The plot was also "pretty straightforward" and though it takes place after the events of "BvS," it's capable of standing alone.

The Redditor also confirmed that Ares is the bad guy, but thought that the villain's part is "odd" and a weak point in the movie.

"Wonder Woman" also stars Robin Wright, Connie Nielsen, Lucy Davis, Ewen Bremner, Danny Huston and Saïd Taghmaoui. Do you think that the movie will be a big win for the DCEU? Share your thoughts below!
