The PlayStation 4 is about to get some big news this week. The PlayStation 4 latest 4.50 firmware update, which currently in beta stage, brings a PS4 Pro Boost Mode, which will allow much smoother game experience in some PS4 titles that haven't received the patches.

According to VG 24/7, a newly published report from Digital Foundry seems to corroborate those claims, after Digital Foundry's tests on community requested titles like Bloodborne, Assassin's Creed Unity, Dark Souls 3 and The Witcher.

In the test, the Bloodborne's frame pacing and load times see no improvement and Bloodborne is still capped at 30 FPS in Boost Mode, but its frame rate no longer dips to the mid-20s when running through certain sections of Yarnham.

According to Eurogamer.net, the popular Bandai Namco's title "Dark Souls 3" also suffers from the same problems and Boost Mode doesn't make a big difference at this time. On the other hand, improvements in the CPU side gives "Assassin's Creed Unity" a 31 percent improvement during frame-dropping parts to 29 FPS.

Other games they look and tests include "Batman: Arkham Knight" and "Until Dawn." On the hand, "Tomb Raider" and "Killzone: Shadow Fall" made a 14 percent overall frame rate increase, which said to reflect the 14 percent rise in GPU clock speed between a Boost Mode-enabled PS4 Pro and a normal run PS4.

But the impressive test so far is on "Project Cars," which reportedly made a 35-38 percent improvement in frame rate, the Digital Foundry claims.

Sony recently announced that the Boost Mode will allow PS4 Pro run at a higher GPU and CPU clock speed for smoother gameplay and experience on some PS4 titles that were released before the PS4 Pro launch. Sony also claims that some games may benefit from the improved frame rates and shorter load times.

In addition to the Boost Mode, the Sony's 4.50 firmware update also introduces an external storage support, more improved Quick Menu, and more.
