Apple's $5 billion "Spaceship" campus that is located in Cupertino, California, looks like it is almost ready for take-off.

It will not be long until Tim Cook, together with his fellow Apple employees will be moving in to their new headquarters. The latest video update by Matthew Roberts, a documentarian who has been flying a drone over Apple Campus 2 to watch its progress has been released. In in the video, it will be seen that the next campus is almost ready to accommodate workers, Fortune reported.

Roberts started the video covering the view of the entire campus. The main building was labelled "Spaceship" because of its circular design, and it looks like it is almost finished with the solar panels on the roof already complete. The research and development facility on the campus now has pavement, and parking garages are also finished. The auditorium, which is going to be used for Apple's announcements for their big product launches has its landscaping getting finalized.

This project titled, Apple Campus 2, started getting constructed in 2013 but the planning took place several years before that. Late Apply co-founder Steve Jobs was one of the proponents for building the new Apple campus with the spaceship design.

The new campus will span 2.8 million square feet of office space when it's completed and will house 12,000 employees. Apple CEO Tim Cook said in a companywide meeting that the first batch of employees will be moving in by the end of January, according to Business Insider.

However, Cupertino's city inspector said last fall that the project was believed to be behind the schedule and the landscaping is not going to be wrapped up until the second quarter. Regardless of the exact month or quarter, the campus is surely going to be finished this year.
