When an actor receives the Hasty Pudding Man of the Year award from the Hasty Pudding Theatricals society at Harvard University, that means he is getting the honor because of his astounding contributions to the world of entertainment, media or film.

Hasty Pudding measures itself as the country's oldest collegiate theatrical organization since 1795. And this year's 2017 Hasty Pudding Man of the Year award goes to the comedic "Deadpool" actor, Ryan Reynolds. He is going to receive the award when he goes to Harvard Square before the Hasty Puddings opening night.

Usually, these actors will get a tour from the Harvard Yard with a show from the Radcliffe Pitches, an all female a cappella group. And on Feb. 3, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Reynolds is going to be the subject of a roast by the Hasty Puddings Theater, as reported by The Harvard Crimson. He will then receive the Pudding Pot at Farkas Hall.

In addition to this prestigious Harvard award, he is also the recipient of GQ's 2016 Man of the Year. Aside from getting a kiss from Andrew Garfield at the Golden Globes and making headlines for his sarcastic and comedic role in "Deadpool," Ryan Reynolds also serves on the board of Micheal J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, as well. Previous Hasty Pudding Man of the Year recipients were Chris Pratt, Justin Timberlake, Tom Hanks, Neil Patrick Harris, Robin Williams, and last year's recipient Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

The Hasty Pudding Theatrical society, or "The Pudding," is known for its burlesque cross dressing musicals and mock presentation of current events from a talented pot of writers, actors and more. Having the funny Ryan Reynolds on board for the roast is going to be interesting.

Currently, the theater group does not have a 2017 Woman of the Year as of yet, as reported by USA Today. But many are suggesting to nominate the lovely Blake Lively.
