It's another year for fans and avid gamers alike to patiently wait for more news or rumors to pop up regarding a possible "Left 4 Dead 3" being developed. However, previous developers of the acclaimed first-person shooter zombie game have announced that they are focusing their efforts in developing a new FPS game. That being said, fans are left with nothing but the top rumors that have circulated around the past year or so about the game.

It was previously reported that fans have voiced out some of the things they would actually want to see developed for a "Left 4 Dead 3" game, University Herald noted. From weapon mods, an open-world setting, a more in-depth character customization, to a deeper and rich story line, fans have definitely worked themselves up on expecting a better gameplay experience for the third installment.

However, one thing fans can expect is for Turtle Rock Studios to be departing from any plans of making a "Left 4 Dead 3," Shacknews reported. It was stated therein that Phill Robb (co-founder of the studio behind other games like "Evolve"), has announced that their team is currently working on a new triple-A game being published by Perfect World.

It was mentioned further that the studio, which fans expected to work on another "Left 4 Dead 3" game, is actually developing a new franchise that would feature an adrenaline-filled online co-op FPS action. Robb went on to say that their new IP is not a zombie game nor is it a post-apocalyptic one. Rather, they are working on elements that lean towards a dark fantasy genre.

With all these said, fans will just have to wait and see if any concrete news pop up regarding a "Left 4 Dead 3" game. For now, they'll just have to settle with the latest speculations that the game will be released sometime in 2017 and that it will even be a cross-platform launch arriving on the Xbox One, PS4, and PC, Digital Spy noted.
