While Samsung is dusting off from the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco, Huawei and Xiaomi release beautiful curved phones similar to the demised phone. Although the South Korean firm has not confirmed the discontinuation of Galaxy Note 7, the upcoming Galaxy S8 Plus reportedly marks the death of Galaxy Note brand. Samsung Kills Off Note Brand

To be able to scrap off Galaxy Note 7 from the people's mind, Samsung is reportedly killing off the brand to give way to the upcoming Galaxy S8 Plus which is said to be of resemblance to the demised handset. According to Forbes, Samsung is on its way to releasing a smartphone bigger than Note 7 but bezel-less akin to Xiaomi Mi Mix.

Accordingly, the line between Note and S brands is slowly disappearing. Now that the Note brand has already been tarnished by the debacle brought by Note 7, Forbes concluded that Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus will automatically be classified under the Note screen size category. For this reason, having Galaxy Note 8 is impossible.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus Features and Specs

Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus are expected to be more competitive to be able to take on rival flagships for 2017. And just recently, a reliable tipster from Weibo has revealed about the robust memory that Galaxy S8 will possibly possessed.

While Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus is said to feature a 5-inch screen, Galaxy S8 Plus variant will sport a screen size of 6-inch AMOLED panel, much bigger than the Note 7. According to GSM Arena, both phones are said to feature curved displays and what's more interesting is the rumored removal of bezels in the screens.

Furthermore, Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus are said to sport an 8GB of memory and powered by Snapdragon 835 SoC processor. The stylus pen support is not yet confirmed but it is presumed that Samsung is currently working on that; however, the phone might not feature digital assistant because it would be in conflict with Google Assistant.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus Release Date and Price

Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus variant are slated to be launched in April 2017 during an event in New York. Accordingly, both phones are said to be more expensive than predecessors since the bill of materials has increased to 15 to 20 percent.
