Lenovo-Owned Motorola Rollout Android 7.1 Nougat Update to Moto X Handsets; Moto G4, Moto G4 Plus Will Follow [REPORT]

The popular Lenovo-owned mobile maker Motorola has reportedly started rolling out Android 7.1 Nougat to their Moto X handsets. While there are 15 handsets eligible for the Android Nougat update and Moto Z has already started receiving it, Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus are reportedly following the footsteps of Moto X Play. Android 7.1.1 Nougat Update to Moto X Handsets

Lenovo-owned company Motorola has previously announced that Moto Z and Moto G4 handsets will be the first ones to get Android Nougat update. And while Moto Z variants have already received the Android 7 updates, Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus are still waiting for the kicked off.

However, just recently, a Moto X Play handset is reportedly spotted in an anonymous website running the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat beta program. According to The Droid Review, if it's really Moto X play seen from that website, then Motorola is presumed to be testing on a certain handset model to fix any issues before proceeding to the final rollout.

On the other hand, Moto X Play users are advised to wait a little longer regarding the rolling out of Android 7.1.1 Nougat to their respective handsets. It is presumed that Motorola will release the update few weeks from now and unveil some of the Moto-specific features of the operating system.

Android 7.0 Nougat Update to Selected Motorola Handsets

Motorola's parent company Lenovo announced the rolling out of Android 7 Nougat update to ZUK Z2 Pro in January 28, 2017. Hence, it is also anticipated that Motorola handsets such as Moto G4, Moto G4 Plus, Moto G4 Play, Moto X, Moto X Force, Moto X Style, Droid Turbo Maxx 2, Droid Turbo 2 and Nexus 6 will receive the same update next year according to Tech Mic.

Motorola has announced 15 eligible devices to get the Android 7 Nougat update and out the mentioned devices, Moto Z and Moto Z Force have initially received the update. Other Moto Z variants such as Moto Z Play Droid, Moto Z Play, Moto Z Force Droid and Moto Z Droid are likely to follow the footsteps of their predecessors.
