Samsung Supplies Curved OLED Displays to Apple for iPhone 8

The rivalry between Apple and Samsung seem to be going on a fine line since Samsung has reportedly supplied 100 million units of curved OLED displays for the upcoming iPhone 8. According to Phone Arena, this is likely to confirm that iPhone 8 might feature an edge-to-edge and bezel-less display with "waterfall" look towards the back; thus, removing the physical Home Button to be able to save the space and integrate it on the screen display.

 However, Apple ordered a plastic OLED from Samsung and not glass substrates or glass display. For this reason, Apple is rumored to be working on a flexible display for iPhone 8 as it is the same thing that happened with Galaxy Round where Samsung used a glass substrate for the flexible display.

Apple iPhone 8 Other Notable Features

Furthermore, aside from the rumored flexible OLED display, Apple is also reportedly working on a new sensing technology that enables the device to react when the users have interact with the sides of the phone. However, according to Slashgear, Apple might not be adopting that kind of technology since Apple will utilized the flat LCDs coming from JDI and LG Display.

Moreover, iPhone 8 is also rumored to feature the wireless charging technology, however, the charger might not come as free or included in the box during the purchase. Users need to shell out extra penny for the device but this not a verified information though.

On the other hand, Apple is expected to release another iPhone 7 in 2017 presumably called iPhone 7s. According to 9 to 5 Mac, iPhone 7s is likely to feature a flat LCD screen display panels and with minor revisions coming from iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
