GTX 1080 Ti and RX 490 haven't been announced yet but the assumptions and speculations have gone viral as leaks after leaks are spilled. Judging from the rumors roundup, here's why gamers should wait for AMD RX 490!

GTX 1080 Ti pricepoint is likely more expensive than RX 490

GTX 1080 Ti has no official price or ETA but it has long been known that Nvidia cards fall under premium category. Thus, it will not be a surprise if Nvidia sells the Pascal-based chip for $800.

Economically, it will make sense to purchase a cheaper card, especially for budget-concern gamers. The upcoming RX 490 would be a relevant choice - an affordable alternative to the premium GTX 1080 Ti.

AMD RX 490 could have more power and better performance

Performance-wise, the GTX 1080 Ti benchmark leak shows an impressive chip. It's got 3,328 CUDA cores and clocked at 1,503 MHz with boost clock of 1,623 MHz. PCGamesn reported that the said GeForce GTX series will sport 10 GB of GDDR5 memory with 480 Gbps bandwidth  

When comparing the previous cards with similar specs from each brand, Nvidia's graphics card tend to have faster memory clock but it is AMD that has always been consistent in bringing higher Flops. And the early rumblings suggest that the Vega 10 architecture is likely to be packed with more power and performance than GTX 1080 Ti.

GTX 1080 Ti and RX 490 - Both coming at CES 2017

Nvidia's Jen Hsun Huang is confirmed to deliver keynote speech at the CES 2017 event. It is reported that the CEO will introduce new graphics cards along with the company's latest developments, which gamers are hoping that it will include the GTX 1080 Ti, MobiPicker reported.

On a side note, AMD is also gearing up for Vega-based RX 490 launch next year and it is rumored to be introduced at the same event. The speculations are only based on the leaks and previous rumors. The real winner between RX 490 and GTX 1080 Ti, however, can only be determined after both cards arrive.
