Matt Damon's career holds a lot of accolades. He is already an award winning actor, Academy Award winning writer and producer, too. He is considerably one of the most popular actors in the world.

As a young man, Matt Damon started out his career after attending Harvard. He only attended the school for a short period of time to pursue a full-time acting career. At only 18 years old, his first movie debut was in "Mystic Pizza."

Before he got famous for "Jason Bourne," Matt Damon had to work for ten years until he finally starred in a big movie. His first starring role was in "The Rainmaker." Forbes describes him as a grounded and principled person. In addition, he is said to be able to retain normalcy in the midst of a whirlwind place like Hollywood.

Matt Damon is not only a good actor but he is described to be a good husband, father and friend too. Here are a few things everyone can learn from the actor.

1. Decide to not be nervous. - Tom Hanks offered Matt Damon this particular advice when they were both working on "Saving Private Ryan." That advice helped him in his working relationships with other actors. He followed Hanks' advice when he worked with big name stars like Jack Nicholson, Robert DeNiro and Marin Scorsese.

2. Set boundaries. - Being an actor is not all about glitz and glamour. As fame goes along with the job, it is often an overwhelming job. Which is why Matt Damon tries to live a normal life. He does this by ensuring his family gets the normal life they need and he steers clear of anything that would invade his privacy. He knows the boundaries between his work and family life.

3. Set priorities. - For Matt Damon, his priorities are as follows - family, career and charity. He is a known philanthropist and he supports thee causes that are important to him. At the same time, he makes sure he has time for his family and that his career is able to balance both.
