A University of Akron student died after being stabbed by his roommate. The attack reportedly happened early Saturday and the victim died on Monday.

According to Fox 8, police have started their investigation over the death of Duncan Unternaher, 23. Apparently, the victim had an argument with the suspect, Kendall Scheid, 22.

The two lived in the same apartment in the 400 block of Grant Street. A felonious assault charge has been issued to Scheid.

"Brother Duncan passed earlier this afternoon," the school's Phi Delta Theta chapter posted on Sunday. "We are blessed to have shared so many wonderful memories with Duncan. A man to never know a stranger, Duncan was both inviting and outgoing. He quickly made friends everywhere he went, and was loved by the entire Akron community."

Cleveland.com reported that Scheid stabbed Unternaher in the chest when they fought over fast food, according to police. It was noted that the roommates fought shortly after they went out to buy fast food.

Scheid then stabbed Unternaher in the chest. Another roommate of theirs called 911 after the stabbing occurred. Both the victim and Scheid were drunk at the time.

Akron Beacon Journal added that Scheid is being held in the Summit County Jail on a $1 million, 10 percent bond. The Akron Police report described him as a "known alcohol user."

"The University of Akron community is deeply saddened by this tragedy," the school said in a statement. "University officials, including UA President Matthew Wilson, have been with his family and friends since the incident became known. UA has offered its full support to the family and to his fellow students. Grief counselors are being made available to those who find themselves in need of those services."

Unternaher was described as "an amazing guy." "He was always happy," Dan Sulenski, who knew the victim through similar organizations, said. "If you had a class with him you knew who he was, no matter how big the class was. He would participate in every class discussion. He liked to give his opinion. He was a smart guy."
