Job interviews can be overwhelming and anxiety-inducing especially for fresh graduates. There are a lot of things that could go wrong.

Fortunately, there are things that one can do in order to look professional for every job interview. According to Inc., looking and feeling professional can help candidates perform well during the application process. The publication shared seven tips on how to ace that interview.

1. Arrive to the interview five minutes before the schedule.

Showing up early can help demonstrate to the interviewer that you are serious about the job. This can also give you time to relax and mentally prepare for the event.

2. Put effort into your appearance.

Looking good will make you feel more confident, which can radiate towards the recruiter. It helps to prepare your outfit the night before so that you won't be stressed out in the morning before your interview.

3. Keep your phone in silent mode.

While millennials are known for being attached to their phones, it is incredibly unprofessional to have your phone ring in the middle of an interview. It can also rattle you and make you lose track of where the interview was going.

4. Do your research and ask questions.

Know everything about the company that you're applying for. What is their mission and vision? What are their core values? This will show your interest for the job. Ask questions as well.

5. Prepare everything you need.

Again, it's best to prepare everything you need before the day of your interview. Pack everything that the recruiter might need such as your resume, your portfolio and your computer, among others.

6. Don't talk bad about your current or past employer.

Stick to the positives. Refrain from saying anything bad about others, especially your current or past employer - no matter how difficult your time was with them. Remember, it will only reflect poorly on you if you do.

7. Keep a positive attitude.

Don't let your emotions override your professionalism. Focus on the interview and keep a positive attitude regardless of circumstances.
