College students, both continuing and new, have to obtain thousands of dollars for their education. Ideally, they do not have to do illegal things but rather just check on FAFSA online and fill out forms. FAFSA can now be filed this month instead of waiting until January of next year. Filing earlier for FAFSA will free one from the stress of filing later and have to wait for tax return on January so to be able to file the FAFSA.

Filing FAFSA is beneficial as this allows a student to send his financial details to up to ten different colleges. Most colleges are in constant search for students who need financial assistance. FAFSA helps colleges by granting loans and scholarship grants. Some of this financial assistance are awarded based on the student's needs, merits earned , the school that the student goes or the town that he or she lives.

Prominent colleges can also provide educational assistance for deserving students Some colleges have a foundation where funds come from donors such as local businesses, civic organization or retired teachers. Muscatine Community College is one of these colleges that awards scholarships and provides equipment as well.

The MCC Foundation awarded last year approximately $300,000 for scholarship grants. Accordingly, said fund was used appropriately so that it can provide more scholarships. Students may avail of this educational aid with FAFSA by filling out the MCC Scholarship form. The form can be filled anytime and reminding applicants of its deadline which is on the first day of March.

Most Eastern Iowa towns have one or more of the following civic organizations such as Lions Club, Rotary International, Optimist, 4H, and among others who also offer educational assistance for college.

Women who desire to study on STEM field can check this link for scholarships for women in science, technology, engineering, and math. Start from here: https://www.scholarshipsforwomen.net/science/
