Xiaomi is planning to introduce its smartphone named Meri with the in-house processor that has been leaked previously.

Xiaomi Meri specifications leaked

The leak on Xiaomi's new device was spotted on microblogging website Weibo, Xda-Developers reported. The screenshots pop on AnTuTu and Geekbench which indicates that Xiaomi Meri runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Scores for single-core testing reached 758 while the multi-core test recorded a score of 3105 and 3043. For the result on AnTuTu, Xiaomi Meri scored 63,581, which is considered high enough for high-end devices with a value under 150,000 to 175,000, PhoneArena has learned.

Xiaomi's rumored flagship could carry a 5.5-inch or greater screen than what has been mentioned in earlier rumors. However, it is still unclear whether it will sport screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 or not as there is no word yet coming from Xiaomi.

There are only a few details about the technical specs at the moment, but the benchmark figures seems to hint that Xiaomi's upcoming flagship can compete with Galaxy Note 4.

Xiaomi is ready for SoC competition?

The Chinese smartphone maker must also be very careful when producing in-house processor as they may not want something to happen with their flagships, like how Samsung with its Galaxy Note 7 has problem with overheating battery and processor.

If Xiaomi Meri rumor comes to fruition, it is unlikely for its processor to be categorized as high-end chip. Xiaomi will probably sell it at low or mid budget. Many have assumed that the in-house processor might take on Qualcomm, Exynos and MediaTek, but judging from the crafts, it is highly likely to be a head to head with MediaTek.
