You may have seen her in MTV's 'The Hill.' At some point in 2012, she served as a judge on Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model. But behind that face, Whitney Port is actually quite studied in gender studies.

Born in Los Angeles, California, before Whitney Port became a famous TV personality, author and fashion designer, she attended the Warner Avenue Elementary School. During fifth grade, she became the class president. She then took her high school education at the Crossroads School in Santa Monica. Afterwards, she was cast in the reality TV show 'The Hills.' Like in most reality shows, it chronicles the life and daily humdrums of the cast. But she did not stay idle. She works in Teen Vogue during that time. She also interned with the magazines Women's Wear Daily and W.

That was in 2006. A year later, Whitney graduated from the University of Southern California after earning her degree in Gender Studies. She was also an active member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, cites Seventeen. Port explains that although she was under the reality TV show's critical eye, she had to interview successfully for the position "regardless of what the cameras wanted."

She became successful. In the third season of 'The Hills,' she was promted as the West Coast fashion contributor for 'Teen Vogue.' What is interesting to note is that Whitney Port keeps her career and success separate from her career path. Although, there must be a point in time where her reality TV personality buzz could have been useful for her.

In 2011 and onwards, she is known to executive produce in the online series titled 'Hollywood is Like High School with Money.' She was also very successful for her fashion line 'Whitney Eve.' Because of her knowledge in fashion, she joined as a judge on Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model.
