A tragic event took the life of a Jacksonville State University student. Katie Beth Carter was tragically killed in a car accident during Labor Day weekend.

The teen was a member of the Marching Ballerina group. She was 18 years old and majored in Early Childhood and Elementary Education.

She was going back to school after spending time with her family. Until a tractor trailer crashed into her car. Wit the injuries she sustained, she was not able to survive.

After finding out about this, musician and artist Taylor Swift donates $5,000 to help in the funeral and other expenses.

"No words could express how sorry I am for your loss. I know that you will keep Katie's memory alive," Swift, 26, wrote on the fund page. "Please know how much I am thinking of you and saying a prayer for your family. All my love, Taylor."

This was written on the GoFundMe page. The total cost needed to cover was set at $30,000. The amount covers medical expenses and funeral cost arrangements. US Magazine has it that the GoFundMe page describes her as a shining star that touched so many lives.

In response to Taylor Swift's generosity, Kimi (Katie Beth's sister) thanked her on Instagram.

While many claim that this is Taylor Swift's way of getting over the break up with Tom Hiddleston, fans can only see Swift's generosity. She also pledges 1 million to the country's flood victims.

In memory of the Jacksonville State University dancer, her JSU Band director Ken Bodiford said that she was an outstanding young lady. "And a wonderful person. She had the type of personality that would lift your spirit just by being in her presence," says Bodiford on social media. He recalls her performing at the JSU football games.

"There are no words to describe the pain that we all feel or the sadness we share with her family. Our Southerners family was blessed to have her in our midst and we will think of her as we enter the field for every performance," Bodiford said.

She was a freshman Marching Ballerina and she will be missed.
