A lot of teens will be starting college this fall. Figure out your personal style and stand out from the crowd.

It was previously reported that college must-haves for men include suede loafers, trainers, button-down shirts, zip-up jackets and a sturdy pair of jeans, among others. Now, it's time for the ladies to know how to stay classy in college.

Seventeen collected tips from fashionistas of different schools. Their personal styles and outfit ideas were also featured in the article.

According to Courtney Pelot, a senior in the University of Wisconsin, she has noticed that her style has become more minimalistic. This comes after she spent the summer as in intern in New York City.

"I'll transfer my redefined, East Coast-inspired style to my Midwestern campus this fall by donning lots of black, wearing chic sneakers and keeping my accessories to singular statement-making pops!" she said. "I suggest thinking back to what inspired you this past summer and add that unique touch into your back-to-school look!"

Another senior, Meg Gegler, from Providence College, advised freshmen to "stay true to your personal style, but never be afraid to experiment with current trends - make them your own!" University of South Florida student Meagan Sapashe added that going back-to-school would be the perfect time to buy staple pieces that you can effortlessly combine with your existing wardrobe.

As for Nada Ezaldein, a junior from the University of Florida, her favorite part about fall fashion is when she gets to exchange summer cut-offs for longer, baggier and more relaxed boyfriend jeans. "They are convenient and comfortable enough to wear to class, while still looking hip and trendy," she said.

UPenn junior Masoma Masogie urged freshmen to "be fearless." "Have fun with it and don't let any rules or categories define you," she added.

Gina Cangemi of Kent State University also advised college students to "layer in style." "Just because the temperature is dropping doesn't mean you have to cover up your personal flair," she said.
