Online education has provided a flexible way for working adults to finish their degrees. It is changing a lot of industries, include the world of fashion. This technology is relevant for fashion education because, whereas the best education and institutions have always been located around the industry's design capitals like London, Paris, Milan, New York and Tokyo, students from different places around the world can now learn from these schools.

It was also reported that online education has the potential to produce better academic outcomes. This may be because of the fact that it offers students a more personalized learning experience, based on their strengths and weaknesses.

While pursuing an online degree is convenient and flexible, there is also a lot of self-motivation and discipline involved. Online students need to have the ability to stay focused on their goals and do what they need to do without the prompting of external factors.

Self-motivation and discipline will definitely help online students finish their degrees. U.S. News data revealed that students in some online programs earn their degree within six years.

The University of Missouri - St. Louis was the only online bachelor's program where 100 percent of students who enrolled in the 2008-2009 school year completed the course within the given time frame. The school had 15 students that enrolled in the said school year.

University of Illinois - Chicago came in second place, with 90.2 percent out of the 41 students who enrolled in the school year 2008-2009 graduated in six years or less. Southwestern Oklahoma State University came in third with 90 percent of 20 students.

Private schools Malone University, Siena Heights University and Graceland University got the fourth, fifth and sixth spots, respectively. It was noted that there were seven public universities in the top 10 list.

Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania, Florida State University, University of Central Florida and Westfield State University were ranked seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth, respectively.
