Danny Drinkwater's, the midfielder who led Leicester City to success in the premier League, exclusion from Roy Hodgson's final 23-man England squad for Euro 2016 is likely to stir debate when newcomers like Marcus Rashford was included.

The 26-year-old Drinkwater helped propel Leicester City to the most unexpected title success of the Premier League last season. The Manchester United graduate also eraned the man of the match award on his debut, the 2-1 friendly loss against the Netherlands in March. However, Drinkwater will now have to focus to Leicester's title defense in the 2016-17 campaign, Independent reported.

Rashford Joins 23-Man England Squad

Manchester United's teenage striker Marcus Rashford has been named in Roy Hodgson's 23-man England squad for the 2016 European Championship in France. The 18-year-old Rashford scored on his international debut in the 2-1 friendly victory against Australia Friday breaking Tommy Lawton's 78-year record at the Stadium of Light, BBC reported.

England faces Portugal in their Euro 2016 warm-up finale match on Thursday. Rashford has signed a four-year contract with Manchester United on Monday, only made his first-team debut on 25 February, but scored eight goals in 18 club games to earn an international call-up, BBC added.

Rashford and Liverpool's Daniel Sturridge have maintained their places amid doubts over their experience and fitness respectively. The Manchester United striker is still studying his A-Levels at Ashton-on-Mersey School in Sale, Independent UK reported.

Hodgson, England manager, decided to keep with Sturridge. Meanwhile, the former Chelsea and Manchester City striker proved his fitness throughout a series of training exercises during Bank Holiday weekend. The 26-year-old Sturridge has missed England's last two friendly matches but partook a training session on Monday, BBC said. He also trained at Watford's training field Tuesday, along with Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere and Liverpool team-mate Jordan Henderson.

Hodgson's final 23-Man England Squad includes three goalkeepers, five forwards, seven defenders and eight midfielders. Click here to check out the full list.
