An important note for Samsung Galaxy Note 4 users as now the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update is available on the device. After Galaxy Note 5 received the new OS update last month, now it is introduced to Note 4.

According to International Business Times, South Koreans have the privilege to experience the newest OS update on their Samsung devices. U.S carriers are expected to be the next. The rollout will enable Galaxy Note 4 to have many new features.

What's new ?

As for now, Galaxy Note 4 which receives an automatic update, gets various benefits of the OS. Now the device can have similar operating system to the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6. For instance, screen-off note allows users to jot notes even when screen is turned off - which was only available on Galaxy Note 5; and the Air Command that enables user's navigation without touching the screen.

NDTV reported the update takes 1.4GB of space and recommends users to connect using WiFi to download it. Aside from its visual design enhancement, the update also lets users to search nearby devices using the Quick connect. It also features power-saving mode by automatically stopping some systems that can drain your battery to extend its life.

Galaxy Note 4 users can check their device by going to 'About Phone' and choose 'System Updates', then click 'Check for Updates'. The UScellular has also made tutorials on each available Samsung device for Android Marshmallow update.

User warning

The update notifies users that Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow doesn't apply to Decrypt devices. Thus, if a smartphone is encrypted, it cannot be disabled once upgraded. It is unsure whether the update comes with security update on monthly basis.

Samsung is expected to launch its new phablet that will compete against iPhone 7. The Note will have 5.8 inch screen-size and 6 GB of RAM with 12 MP lens camera.
