Amazon Fire Stick is an amazing device which you can plug into an HDMI port and turn your television into a SmartTV. However, the same stick that makes it easier for people to access content can also be used to access pirated content.

With the device, a person does not need to connect their laptop to their television nor need a Smart TV. All they need to do is plug it into their TV and access premium channels, such as HBO, Netflix, and Hulu.

However, it has been discovered that there was a loophole which can be exploited by some people. Through this device, they can also access pirated movies, those that are still playing in the cinemas. This is also a trend that is already happening according to reports.

Aside from watching and listening pirated content, there are YouTube videos that tell users the type of app they can use to download these movies and music for free. The only problem is it is illegal.

According to the RIAA, movies and music are subject to copyright laws to protect the value of creative work. Acts considered as piracy include unauthorized download of music and movies. If caught, this could lead to criminal charges with a five-year jail term and $250,000 fine.

Meanwhile, the Amazon Fire Stick debuted in India last month, a move that further expanded the number of companies that have joined the platform. The latest to join the bandwagon is the Indian video streaming platform Dekkho, which delivers a wide range of video content in Hindi and other Indian dialects.

India is considered the fifth largest user of the Amazon Fire Stick after the U.S.A, UK, Germany, and Japan.
