Bandai Namco & From Software Make Their Last Big Salvo, This Is 'Dark Souls 3' Finest Hours!

By

Game publisher Bandai Namco and developer From Software have been preparing for their one big final salvo, a massive burst of update that has been scheduled for release this week on "Dark Souls 3." The new patch will arrive on March 24, ahead of the much-talked The Ringed City DLC. Bandai Namco made the huge announcement this week.

GameSpot reported earlier that the latest update (version 1.11) will launches on game consoles and PC, starting March 23 or early on March 24, depending on the players' time zone and gaming platform. Here, the crowd will see PC servers down for maintenance, starting from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Pacific Time.

"Dark Souls 3's" latest update will bring a host of bug fixes and two new maps--Dragon Ruins and Grand Roof to the game's PvP mode, Undead Match, a known location in "Dark Souls 3" game that is accessible only to owners of the Ashes of Ariandel, Season Pass and the upcoming The Ringed City DLC. Additionally, many items and weapons have been upgraded as part of the massive update, including some changes made for Heavy Armor and Heavy Weapons. Aside from the maps and number of improvements made, the version 1.11 update will also usher in a bunch of bug fixes along with some important changes to animations and attack motions.

But the main highlight of the update is the PS4 Pro support, which said to increase "Dark Souls 3's" frame rate on the Sony's PS4 Pro game console. At this time, it still unclear how the game's frame rate will be improved, whether it will start from 30 FPS going up to 60 FPS. But the game's community manager, Kimmundi, made some good explanation about this on Reddit. For a complete and full list of patch notes, check out Dark Souls Page at Steam Community website.

Bandai Namco's popular action role-playing game has long been criticized for its inconsistent frame rates and Dark Souls fans have been repeatedly requesting PS4 Pro updates from the game developer From Software. Fans will finally see the impact the PS4 Pro update has made on "Dark Souls 3" when the update arrived on March 24.

Finally, Bandai Namco and From Software have been busy polishing the final works for the upcoming release of the Ringed City DLC pack. The DLC expansion pack will be "Dark Souls 3" second and final DLC expansion, following the release of Ashes of Ariandel DLC last October 2016. The upcoming and much-awaited The Ringed City DLC will be arriving on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on March 28, and it will costs "Dark Souls 3" players around $15, according to the gaming website GameSpot.

In other Dark Souls-related news, gaming site IGN has just learned earlier that Dark Souls developer From Software has been working on three new games, in which one will be a new entry in the Armored Core series, the hardcore mech series that From Software president and Dark Souls series creator Hidetaka Miyazaki has worked previously.

The Dark Souls creator has made some nice conversation with IGN at the recent Tokyo Game Show, where Miyazaki gave some hints as to what the fans can expect from the three new games. Miyazaki made no further comment when asked about the Dark Souls sequel.
