Restrictions On Android 7.1.1 Nougat Beta’s OnePlus 3, 3T Arrival; Complete List Of 7.1.2 Nougat Recipients

The OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T are now receiving Android 7.1.1 Nougat beta. The update, however, isn't coming to all versions of the mobile devices.

The new Android 7.1.1 Nougat beta is based on HydrogenOS, which only runs on the Chinese versions of the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T, Phone Arena reported. It's odd, though, that the Chinese models will receive the software update prior to the international version.

Numerous users in the Asian country prefer to use OxygenOS over the HydrogenOS. The former is characterized by a cleaner interface based on Android, while HydrogenOS is heavily tweaked. OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T users should expect similar software updated based on OxygenOS to roll out soon.

The Android 7.1.1 Nougat beta build will come via OTA (over the air) for users who joined the software's beta program. The update takes up 1.32 GB of space and will contain the March security patch that carries fixes to stability, connectivity and performance. The ZTE Axon 7 is receiving the update, too.

The Android 7.1.1 Nougat beta introduces a new set of emojis that promote gender equality. Users will now see female or male counterparts for emojis that only had female or male representation (e.g. female welders and female mechanics).

Thanks to the software update, users will be able to send GIFs directly from the keyboard of the supported apps -- Hangouts, Google Allo and Google Messenger. In addition, there are app shortcuts from the home screen.

Long pressing an app icon will launch actions on the app. On Messenger, for instance, users can go directly into an existing chat or start a conversation with just a long press instead of going to the app's home page.

The Android 7.1.2 Nougat beta came to Google's Nexus 6P recently, Android Police reported. Other Google smartphones getting the software update are Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 5X, Nexus Player and Pixel C.

The Android 7.1.2 Nougat beta introduces the fingerprint 'swipe for notifications' gesture, which allows users to access the notification panel easily by swiping down on the fingerprint scanner located on the back.

The beta also allows users to set up different live wallpapers on the home screen and lock screen. Past Android versions only allow one wallpaper for the home screen and lock screen, but that's not the case anymore.

It should also be mentioned that Google Assistant is on its way to smartphones running Android 7.0 Nougat and Android 6.0 Marshmallow after its Android Wear 2.0 release earlier this year.
