According to some players who follow the secret code of ethics, an honorable victory is earned through outsmarting opponents; not pushing people environmental kills via lava, hoit springs, or protruding spikes. A Reddit user by the name of "soundslikeponies" argues that the environmentals in the game make doing any tactic to defeat an opponent pointless. That's because it wouldn't matter if the player hits the other six times as long as the other succeeds in throwing the opponent off the cliff.

The debate within the "For Honor" community is getting much attention lately. Players are signalling each other a set of rules to play with honor before starting a duel. But most people just ignore them and gank, behead, or even troll their opponents after a duel.

Another Reddit user "BroWithTheFrO" is saying players should embrace the hazards. That's because the developer, Ubisoft, placed it there for varied options. Moreover, he argues that players who embrace the so-called 'ethics' and scold other players for not following them are stupid.

Another is beheading the enemy or spamming emotes after a victory. Moreover, serious "For Honor" players say pushing an opponent off the cliff for an instant kill is not honorable at all.

Finally, if players had a good fight, they must tell the other that it was a good fight. But for those who are just in for the win, these ethics are a load of baloneys; nothing more or less.
