A 33-year-old Oklahoma man is behind bars after giving his stepfather a lethal atomic wedgie, Reuters reported.
Court papers show that Brad Lee Davis admitted to pulling 58-year-old Denver St. Clair's underwear over his back and head - allowing the elastic band to wrap around St. Clair's neck and suffocate him, News 9 in Oklahoma reported.
"I'd never seen this before, but when we first looked at our victim seeing the waistband of his underwear was around his neck," Pottawatomie County Sheriff Mike Booth told The Oklahoman.
Police arrested Davis on Tuesday.
On Dec. 21, the two men got into a drunken fight inside St. Clair's house just east of Oklahoma City, Reuters reported citing an arrest affidavit from the Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Office. Davis called 911. when St. Clair became unconscious; he was dead when police arrived.
Davis hit St. Clair on the head, causing him to lose consciousness, The Oklahoman reported. Then he grabbed his stepfather's underwear and gave him an atomic wedgie.
Oklahoma Medical Examiner spokeswoman Amy Elliott told Reuters the cause of death was asphyxiation and blunt force trauma.
St. Clair's elastic waistband was stretched over his head and that it left ligature marks around his neck, Reuters reported. Blood splatter was also found in the kitchen, the living room and on the living room ceiling.
Court papers state that Davis planned on assaulting his stepdad but not on killing him, News 9 reported.
Davis is reportedly being held in Pottawatomie County without bond. A formal murder charge is expected to be filed against Davis at a court hearing on Jan. 22, 2014.
