MediaTek Helio P25 Supports Dual-Lens Module

The Taiwanese chipmaker introduced the latest processor on Wednesday with highlights including dual-lens camera support. Helio P25 is manufactured on 16nm process - enabling it to save more power.

Helio P25 has a higher clock than its predecessor and according to the company, it is able to support either a single 24 MP camera or dual 13 MP camera.

Along with the optics, it supports features like HDR video and Bokeh effect, as reported in GSM Arena. A handset sporting Helio P25 will be able to capture great images with lesser noise and improved resolution.

MediaTek's processor is not only good for dual-lens camera but it can support a massive RAM up to 6 gigs. Furthermore, it supports ARM Mali T880 dual GPU with 900 MHz base clock. Performance-wise, the chip has an enhanced visual experience that makes it capable of playing VR games especially with its multimedia features.

It's uncertain as to which smartphones will be using the chip since this is a huge leap from its previous chips. MediaTek is popular among entry-level performers, according to Phone Arena, and this could be a big step that allows the company to embark to European market and meet its direct rival, Exynos.

There have been a few budget handsets carrying MediaTek processor, such as, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, Sony Xperia C4, HTC One M9+, and Vivo X5 Max Platinum Edition. The premium chip is expected to be integrated with a wider range of smartphones in the future.
