BlackBerry Mercury Mystery Unveiled; Google Pixel Killer on The Way to MWC 2017

By

There wasn't enough detail to judge or praise the BlackBerry Mercury but a new leak suggests that the handset will be an awesome phone.

BlackBerry Mercury Camera Specs Leaked

The iconic BlackBerry is back with Qwerty keyboard and Android Nougat pre-installed. The dual-SIM smartphone has just got a new leak from Roland Quant who found out that Mercury will come with 12 MP Sony IMX378 for its rear camera and Samsung S5K4H8/Omnivision OV8856 8 MP for selfie shooter.

If Quant's words are to be believed, BlackBerry Mercury could sport the same camera specs found in Google Pixel. Trusted Reviews has learned that Pixel phone is lauded for its camera software.

BlackBerry Mercury Specifications

One thing to note, Mercury combines a large touchscreen display with physical keyboards, which offers an entirely new feature especially for the loyalists who have been waiting for quite some time.

However, the overall performance may not be on par since the Pixel packs more premium hardware configuration than Mercury.

BlackBerry Mercury will feature 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. It will be powered by a Snapdragon 425 chipset and 3000 mAh battery.

Another surprising rumor came from an anonymous source that claimed Mercury will be manufactured in Indonesia, Express reported.

The handset made an appearance at CES earlier this year but BlackBerry did not disclose any detail. Recent reports suggest that BlackBerry is set for MWC 2017 to unveil its latest 5.5-inch
smartphone flagship.

Aside from BlackBerry, Nokia has also made a successful comeback after Nokia 6 were sold out in 60 seconds flash sale in China. This marks the rebirth of what were once the kings of smartphone. Will BlackBerry Mercury capture the visitors' heart at MWC? That remains to be seen.
